An ion foot spa operates on the principles of electrochemistry. Modern science is still learning just how the human body works on a cellular level but it is understood that cells react, generate energy, and function, all on an electrochemical level. The Ion Balance foot spa produces positive and negative ions in the foot bath water. For decades scientists have studied the positive benefits of increasing the amount of negative ions in a living organism’s environment. Studies have shown that increasing negative ions produces stronger growth in plants, reduces negative symptoms in humans and leaves people with an overall increased sense of wellbeing.
Our toxic modern environment is generally deficient of beneficial negative ions (An ion is a charged particle that forms when an atom gains or loses an electron). Chemical pollution as well as EMF (electromagnetic frequency) pollution have been stripping our environment of positive energy. This greatly contributes to our bodies being out of balance. We can restore balance by increasing the amount of negative ions in our environment.
How often should I use the system?
It is recommend that the system be used, if you are over the age of 50, once every 3 days until you have completed 14 sessions. If you are under the age of 50 you may use the system every 2 days until you have completed 14 treatments. Then let your body rest for 2 weeks, and then start the process of 14 treatments over according to your age. After you have completed your second round of 14 treatments a maintenance program of one session per week is often sufficient. You will be able to determine the appropriate maintenance schedule by how you feel. Drink plenty of water during and after your session to keep oneself hydrated. It is important to always drink sufficient amounts of water on a daily basis. Water cleanses the body.

This results in a small amount of water being deconstructed into Hydrogen and Oxygen, molecules thereby creating a negative ionic charge in the water. A few toxins are seen in the foot spa but these are leakage from the lymphatic system and not processed by the liver and kidneys. It is estimated that these only represent 10% of the total detox that is occurring with our system. The other 90% happens in your body up to several days after a treatment.
