ion foot detox machine why it
About the ion foot detox machine

If you feel fatigued and commonly get head colds, you might be tempted to try a detoxification machine, such as a footbath. One device that promises to clear your body of built-up toxins is the IonCleanse Detox Footbath. Although numerous products work in a similar fashion, they may try to “one-up” each other by claiming professional spa qualities or guaranteeing extra cleansing. In the end, however, they are all likely health scams, according to Harvard HEALTHbeat newsletter.
ion foot detox machine Evidence
Although promoters of the IonCleanse Detox Footbath claim that the bath can stimulate the outflow of toxins from your feet, no solid evidence supports the claim, according to Harvard HEALTHbeat newsletter. Any change in the water is likely due to corrosion. IonCleanse acknowledges that the color change in the water comes from a combination of the water, metal and salt, but it maintains that substances such as white foam, cheese-like particles and red flecks are related to toxins. The materials in the water probably come from byproducts of the electrolysis process. Byproducts of electrolysis include hydrogen and chlorine gases and lye. Lye can soften your skin, which allows it to flake off into the water and pick up bath colors and further the illusion, according to H20 Dot Con.

How does ion foot detox machine work?
The process uses osmosis for movement of particles through a membrane from an area of lower concentration to an area of higher concentration. Negative ions will course through the body collecting toxic substances thereby neutralizing the positive charges.
Note: It has to be made clear that 30-35% of color change could be the result of interaction between the particles in water and the electrodes as well as the acidity or the alkalinity of the foot. However, approximately 65-70% of the color change will be due to substances pulled from the body which will more often manifest as sticky residues.
ion foot detox machine Benefits
In a 2009 survey, 126 users of ionic detox systems were asked what specific health benefits they or their clients received from using ionic detox foot bath systems.Their answers included: pain relief (42), including less joint stiffness, less headaches, less knee pain, less foot pain, less general muscle pain and more, increased energy (29), improved sleep (23), improved digestion (10), toxin reduction (9), decreased swelling (9), circulatory system improvement (9), reduced weight (8), skin improvements (8), emotional improvements (5), respiratory improvements and much more.

Ionic detox has been known to:
Remove toxins, free radicals and body waste products that can cause health problems (In an Aug. ’04 study by Carlos A. Lopez-Moreno, MD, there was a significant deposit of urea, creatinine and glucose in the foot basin in 12 patients with chronic illnesses.)
In a 2008 study by Center for Research Strategies (crsllc.org), 31 participants underwent ionic detox two times per week for 12 weeks. The amount of aluminum and arsenic in their blood was measured before and after the 12 weeks. The average blood aluminum level decreased by 46% from 79.8 ppb (parts per billion) to 43.1 ppb. The average blood arsenic level decreased 24% from 4.6 ppb to 3.5 ppb.
In a 2002 study by Doctor’s Data in St. Charles, IL, there was an average increase in toxic metals found in the foot basin from nine independent sessions. Here is a list of metals that increased in concentration: Copper: 905%, Aluminum 339%, Lead 233%, Iron 174%, Manganese 140%, Antimony 128%, Cadmium 119%
Raise pH levels. Approximately 95% of people experience a state of acidity in which their blood pH is lower than 7.45, indicating an excess of hydrogen ions. This makes an ideal breeding ground for worms, parasites, microorganisms and other critters that lower body function and cause disease.
Inactivate viruses, bacteria, yeast and fungus
Relieve pain and tension including headaches
Purify the blood and lymph
Increase peripheral circulation
Stimulate and balance the immune system

Quicken recovery time from disease or injury
Increase oxygen in the body
Rejuvenate and energize your whole body
Improve sleep

ion foot detox machine dispute
Detox foot spa machines are sold in several common names including: Detox Foot Bath, Foot Detox Spa, Aqua Detox, Ionic Detox Foot Bath, Detoxification Foot Spa, Energizer Detox, Cell Spa Foot Detox, Chi Detox, Bio Detox, Water Detox, and Energetic Foot Bath.
You may have seen pictures similar to the above. Many manufacturers and practitioners claim that it removes toxic matter in the body by soaking your feet in an aqua tub. The treatment is normally given by soaking your feet in water with salt added to aid the conductivity of the water. Then, low electrical current is transmitted through two electrodes.
They claim that water turning reddish brown is the toxic matter removed from the body. Depending on the color, they claim that yellowish color is from the kidney and bladder toxins, orange is from arthritis-related illness, dark brown is from liver-related diseases, and so on. Scientifically, these claims are 100% nonsensical!
Here’s what really happens. The color of water changes due to a process called “electrolysis”. The brown toxins you see are from the rust generated by the corrosion of the iron electrodes! The different variations in color can be accounted by varying amount of salt added to the water and variations in the compositions of the electrodes. The color of water will change with or without soaking your feet in it.
Dialysis results from several sources also show that the brown stuff that appears in the bathwater is iron-based, and that the bathwater showed no sign of urea or creatinine, supporting the fact that detoxification does not apply. In fact, some marketers admitted this and opted in emphasizing “energy balance” in their sales pitches. They also use pseudoscience of toxins, bio-energy, bio-stimulation, cellular energy, and other science jargons to mislead people.
Also, among many commercialized detox foot spa machines, they claim that their machines create negative ions in the water that revitalize the dead cells and organs in the body. There is no definite proof that water can be ionized properly. Ionized water may supposedly mean that the water is ionized, although it is unclear what this claim means precisely. It is claimed that water in an electric field will self-ionize. Pure water at room temperature and normal pressure always self-ionizes to 10–14 M, and it is impossible to force the water permanently into a higher state of ionization without adding other chemicals. However, even if it is possible to ionize the water, it is difficult to prove it.
